Gathering, cleaning and analyzing messy data

If you already started your data science journey on your own you might have worked with some tutorials and courses that provide you with a clean and neat data set to train your machine learning models on. This is great for learning the principles of the algorithms, but the real world is not neat and clean. Real-world data is messy, incomplete, and probably not what you were looking for in the first place.

In this workshop we will look at techniques for gathering data, we will build a program for scraping web content and we will clean and preprocess that data so we can analyze it.

This course is great if you are trying to build a portfolio of machine learning and data science projects. Employers like to see that you are able to work with real data. And if you can gather your own data you are not limited by the existence of nicely prepared datasets to conduct your machine learning experiments.

The workshop is 3 hours. It requires some basic programming experience, preferably in Python. Participants must bring their own laptop.

Get started with Deep Learning

Machine Learning is a highly sought after skillset in today’s job market.

This workshop is a great way to get started with machine learning. We do not just teach you the theory, we train you in how to apply it to real-world problems.

TensorFlow and Keras are frameworks for Machine Learning that are being widely applied in the industry. In our workshop, you will learn to use these frameworks and how to solve real-world machine learning problems using just a few lines of Python code.

This is a WORKshop, you will learn by doing, guided by our expert instructors. We teach you how the algorithms work, and we train you in how to apply them.

The Weekend Workshop series are hands-on 2-day courses in subjects of Machine Learning and Data Science. Our Introductory level workshops serve as great starting points in your Machine Learning Journey. Intermediate and advanced level workshops will take a deep dive into one specific technology, tool or technique. In all our courses we adapt our curriculum based on trends in the industry as well as the needs of our individual students.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Our devices are getting smarter, and more and more things are connected to the internet. Door locks, home automation, advanced sensor systems, GPS tracking, and data collection are just a few examples of what IoT devices do. As more and more things get connected, the demand for IoT proficient developers increases.

This is a 4 part hands-on introductory course on IoT using Raspberry Pi. You will learn the basics of working with embedded hardware, sensors, and LEDs, as well as how to connect your devices to AWS IoT core. You will use AWS Cloud and Raspberry Pi in real-world IoT projects. And you will learn to understand MQTT and JSON protocols.

By the end of this course, you will be confident about what IoT is, and you will have several portfolio projects to show potential employers.

Raspberry Pi Course Kit

The course fee includes a complete course kit with all the hardware you need to complete the course. This kit is yours to keep even after the course.

The kit contains:

• Raspberry Pi 3B+
• Plastic enclosure

Python has had explosive growth in interest in the last few years. It is a simple yet powerful language with many libraries available that make complex programs simple to write.

This four-part course will give you an introduction to programming in Python. We will cover fundamental programming concepts common to all languages, and you will get a good foundation in Python.
